| One Love Zero Hate |
- Week 2 -
I've thought about this a lot, and I feel like this is something that really needs to be said now.Over the last few years, I've come to realise that this small world we live in, is just like everyone said it would be. It's built on clichés.
All those movies about horrible high school cliques and clubs and dramas and bullying that we all laughed and cried over exist in small niches every second around us too, and I believe they cause a lot more damage than we actually think.

We talk about being a generation that's open minded. A generation that supports the rights of women, the rights of the LGBT community; a generation that speaks up for the disabled and disadvantaged.
Yet, I can go on and on about the amount of people I've seen getting tormented. It's in subtle, silent ways that may not seem like a huge issue but leave a huge impact on the mind.
I've seen the very same guys and girls who talk about being disgusted by rape culture, cat-calling, slut shaming, body shaming, and teasing other girls in front of my eyes.
I've seen people who advocate LGBT rights treat people who are even slightly different from their preconceived notions of what a particular gender should be rudely; isolating them. I've seen people who talk about being open minded and non-judgemental quantify and compare another person's feelings and sadness. Ridicule it, even.
I have been the boy who was, again, only 'jokingly' teased about my 'fat’ body, the boy who was teased about my small eyes and crooked smile, the boy who has been called a nerd, a prude, boring, lame, too loud, too quiet, too shy, too bold, too bossy, too plain. I'm the boy who believed those things for a long, long time, too.
So to anyone and everyone who has gone through anything that has made you feel uncomfortable or upset you, speak up. Don't wait.
Spread Love Not Hate.
